Summary
Electrodialysis (ED) can concentrate or dilute charged ions and molecules in aqueous solution. Its principle is: under the action of direct current electric field, the ion passes through the selective ion exchange membrane, thus obtaining the desalting diluent fluid or concentrate fluid.
Main characteristics of electrodialysis technology:
A. D. high recovery of water;
B. E. no change of solution properties due to chemical action and thermal degradation;
C. Continuous operation, high degree of automation; F, no chemicals, low pretreatment requirements.
Electrodialysis is widely used in desalination of seawater and brackish water, electronics, medicine, food, chemical industry and organic matter recovery. Electrodialysis process is usually composed of pretreatment equipment, booster pump, rectifier, automatic control equipment, cleaning system and electrodialysis device, which can be controlled manually or automatically.
